ALPHASCIENCE : THIRD GENERATION VITAMIN C

The synergistic highly concentrate active antioxidants included in the ALPHASCIENCE serums have a biomimetic breakthrough technology stabilizes for a long-term pure Vitamin C, even under high temperature.

WHAT IS VITAMIN C?

L-Ascorbic acid, also known as pure Vitamin C, is a hydro-soluble vitamin, synthetized or naturally extracted from citrus fruits.

It is considered one of the most powerful and effective antioxidants and is widely known for its broad antioxidant and anti-aging properties. It has been shown to help effectively neutralize free radicals and protect the skin against excessive oxidative stress.

Humans can not synthesize Vitamin C, we must acquire this essential vitamin mainly through the regular consumption of fruits and vegetables. Only a small concentration of dietary Vitamin C makes its way to the skin, the best way to increase the vitamin c skin’s concentration is through topical solutions.

BENEFITS

L-Ascorbic acid, also known as the pure form of Vitamin C. This well-known molecule has unique benefits for the skin, with advanced properties for exposome* protection and advanced skin aging.

The well-known benefits of L-Ascorbic Acid are:

- Fights against free radicals responsible for visible signs of aging

- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

- Strengthens the skin by promoting collagen’s production

- Fades visible sun damage and evens out the skin complexion

- Brightens the skin

- Limits cell DNA damages

*Exposome is the set of external aggressions that affect your body, including the sun radiation, stress or lack of sleep, among others.

HOW DOES PURE VITAMIN C FIGHT FREE RADICAL DAMAGE?

Free radicals are produced in the skin as a consequence of environmental exposure (pollution, tobacco, infrared and UVA-B sun radiation, among others) that generate free radicals, unstable molecules with unpaired electrons. Free radicals try to "steal" electrons from other molecules, resulting in oxidative stress.

Over time, damaging compounds can accumulate on the skin and inhibit the production of key proteins, such as collagen and elastin, and free radical damage leads to the appearance of visible signs of premature skin aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and sagging.

Antioxidants, such as L-ascorbic acid, help to protect the skin against those damages by "donating" electrons to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals and help to prevent the appearance of the signs of premature aging.

ALPHASCIENCE’S VITAMIN C SERUMS VS OTHER BRANDS?

Vitamin C is a really potent ingredient but as many other antioxidants, it’s unstable in its pure form.

Alfred Marchal, Organic Chemistry PhD, Alphascience Head of Research and co-founder, was the first scientist being able to stabilize vitamin C in mixed and water-based L-Ascorbic acid formulas in the 1980s in Europe.

Dr. Marchal developed for ALPHASCIENCE a new stabilized Vitamin C complex that exceeded the expectations: independent tests showed the complex was long-term stable even under high temperatures.

In order to have the best results, always remember to look for "Ascorbic acid" in the Ingredients list of your skincare products.

All Alphascience antioxidant serums are formulated with pure L-ascorbic acid in synergy with Tannic acid, in accordance with Dr. Marchal’s guidelines.
